Mr. Loo, a 48-year-old man from Setia Indah, broke his leg after a motor vehicle accident.

Three days after surgery he was discharged and underwent post-operative rehabilitation.

Mr. G, a 38-year-old man, had an alleged fall from a staircase and broke his left thigh bone. He was diagnosed with a closed comminuted fracture of the left intertrochanteric femur.

Emergency surgery was performed on the day of injury; the left thigh bone was fixed and stabilised with an intramedullary nail. He was able to ambulate with a walking frame and was discharged two days after surgery.

Exostoses / Osteochondroma

A 24-year-old man presented with persistent pain and swelling in his thigh. He felt the swelling rub against his muscle whenever he bent his knees.

A knee X-ray revealed a bony overgrowth from his thigh bone. He was diagnosed with femoral exostoses (osteochondroma) and surgery was performed to remove the lesion.

Exostoses (osteochondroma) are extra growths of bone that extend outward from an existing bone. They are the most common benign bone tumours and usually affect the long bones in the leg, shoulder, or pelvis.
